Complications in delivering service.

Delivering a service is a quite complicated task in comparison of delivering a product. In Service each of the task is customized as per the requirements of customer. So in order to deliver to excellent service we need to understand well the issue of a customer. Each customer has different requirements and we need to fulfil their requirements with our best solutions so that the customer will be satisfied and feel the time he had spent with you worth. So, we should be more focused on the requirements of customer hence, we need to maintain such kind of environment where he should feel free and calm and can express his requirements well. We should have good interpersonal skills and communication skills so that we can communicate and understand each other well. The main thing in delivering a service is that it cannot be replaced once delivered, a product or a good can be replaced but a service can never. If we do any mistake while delivering the service then it can impact on the image of the brand. Hence, every case need to be carefully observed, planned and implemented keeping in my mind the higher level of customer satisfaction and brand image of the firm.

SERVICE SECTOR.

According to Three-sector Hypothesis(Macroeconomic theory) there are three types of economic activities which are completely different from each other. These activities are named as sectors and this theory speaks about the Primary(1), Secondary(2), and Tertiary(3) sector. These are :-
  1. The extraction of raw materials.
  2. Manufacturing goods.
  3. Providing services.
As per this theory the development of country's economy will help in changing the economy of a country from the Primary to Secondary and from Secondary to Tertiary.
Tertiary sector is known as service sector. It provides only service not any kind of goods or product. Various activities included in this sector are retailing, banking and insurance, trade, hotels and restaurant, storage and communicate, real estate and ownership of dwelling, etc.

Service industry constitute the social and economic development of a region. In the world's economy it has contributed a lot to the global output and employment by becoming the largest and fastest growing sector. Its growth rate is even higher than agriculture and manufacturing sector.

Service sector has really such a potential that it can accelerate the growth of an economy by offering various business oppurtunities to the investors, by generating employment opportunities as well as by increasing the per-capita income of the nation. Thus, service sector is considered to be an important part of an economy.

Difference between Goods and Services.

Goods and Services both are used to satisfy the needs of a consumer. But it doesn't mean that they are same. Their are a huge a difference between these two.
SERVICE
GOODS

  • Goods are tangible in nature whereas Services are intangible in nature. So, we can say that services can not be inventoried, patented, displayed and communication. Pricing for services is also difficult.
  • Goods are standardized whereas Services are heterogeneous. So, we can say that employee actions is responsible for Service delivery and customer satisfaction. Service quality depends on many uncontrollable factors. It is not sure that what we have planned will matches with the service delivered.
  • Production of goods are separate from Consumption whereas Production and Consumption is simultaneous in case of Service. So, we can say that the transaction is mainly affected by customer participating in and they also affect each others. Service outcome is mainly affected by employees.
  • Goods are perishable in whereas Services are non-perishable. We can say that it is difficult to synchronize demand and supply in case of service and services can not be returned or resold.

AMAZING SERVICE BY AN AIR HOSTESS.

A old white woman arrived at her seat and saw that the passenger next to her was a black man in a crowded flight.

She got angry and called the air hostess.

Hostess asked her- "What's the problem, mam?"

The old woman said-  I was given a seat next to a black man. I can't seat here next to him. You have to change my seat.

The hostess said - "Please, calm down, mam"
Unfortunately, all the seats are occupied, but I'm still going to check if we have any.

The hostess left and returned some minutes later. Madam, as I told you, there isn't any empty seat in this class- economy class. But I spoke to the captain and he confirmed that there only one seat in the first class."

And before the woman said anything, the hostess continued

It is our company's policy to never move a person from economy class to first class.
However, given the circumstances, the commandant thinks that it would be a scandal to make a passenger travel sat next to an unpleasant person.

And turning to the black man, the hostess said- Which means, Sir, if you would be so nice to pack your handbag, we have reserved you a seat in the first class.

And all the passengers nearby, who were shocked to see the scene started applauding, some standing on their feet.

If you are against RACISM then share it.
